Other June pictures

One day James was playing by himself and it got suddenly quiet. I peeked at him and then grabbed the camera. He took a Cabbage Patch doll and climbed up on the couch. He started "reading" to the doll, then as I took this picture he lifted the book up, leaned over, gave the doll a kiss, and continued reading. It melted my heart.

Andrew is now crawling. Getting into James' toys. Pulling himself up on furniture. Taking his socks off. Eating some table food. And growling when he is particularly pleased with something. All in the last couple weeks! My how he is changing! He LOVES splashing in the bathtub or any other water, and playing with James.

One Saturday we headed to John and Maria Bajema's house on Murray Lake for a Dine-With-Nine excursion. We actually had fourteen of us, including kids, but it was a lot of fun. We went for a ride on the pontoon boat and saw some herons and swans. That is Thomas vanLiere in the yellow shirt.

The vanLiere's went fishing off the dock and caught a variety of fish. Here is one that Thomas caught. Dad (Frans), Mom (Kate), and brother Kaes are looking on.

John Bajema explained a lot of things about the lake to us. He does different tests of the lake for the state, like taking oxygen samples, and his wife Maria is very involved in the local government, especially with regards to ordinances related to the lake. Very interesting stuff that I never would have thought about before.
